Sterkfontein Caves is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in South Africa's Cradle of Humankind where visitors descend into underground chambers containing millions of years of geological and paleontological history. The cave system is renowned for significant fossil discoveries including the 'Mrs Ples' skull and the 3.67-million-year-old 'Little Foot' skeleton, with thousands of additional fossils that have contributed to understanding human evolution. Guided tours take visitors through the cave depths to observe these ancient remains and the geological formations that have preserved them.
