The Süleymaniye Mosque is an Ottoman imperial mosque commissioned by Suleiman the Magnificent and designed by architect Mimar Sinan, completed in 1557 as a masterpiece of Classical Ottoman architecture. Visitors can observe the mosque's distinctive dome (26 meters inner diameter), four minarets (76 meters high), and its commanding position overlooking the Golden Horn and Istanbul's skyline, while also viewing the enclosed cemetery with the octagonal mausoleums of Suleiman and his wife Hürrem Sultan behind the mosque.
