What to expect
After the short charter flight in, you board a purpose-built dive/snorkel vessel with a handful of other guests. The crew reads conditions and moves between reef passes, wreck sites and sea lion colonies, stopping wherever the wildlife is best that morning. Lunch is fresh local seafood eaten on deck, anchored in a lagoon so still it looks unreal. You fly back to Geraldton in the late afternoon, salt-crusted and sated.
Good to know
Pre-book at least a few weeks ahead — weather cancellations are common and operators keep a standby list. Bring reef-safe sunscreen and a rash vest; the sun here is unforgiving even on overcast days.
