What to expect
The boat idles near a known sea lion haul-out reef and the crew watches for the animals' interest before anyone enters the water. Curious young sea lions often approach snorkelers directly, twisting and diving around you for the sheer play of it. Dolphin encounters are less guaranteed but frequent on the transit out. Water clarity in the outer reef passes regularly exceeds 20 metres.
