Walk the old fishing paths between Arnøya's tiny harbours with a local who still knows every boathouse owner by name.
What to expect
Your guide meets you at the pier and leads a gentle coastal walk connecting a few small settlements, pointing out cod-drying racks (hjeller), old Sami-Norwegian fishing culture, and quietly spectacular views back toward the mountains of Lyngen. Along the way you're likely to be invited in for coffee by someone the guide knows — this is an island of a few hundred people. The pace is entirely yours to set.
Good to know
Confirm meeting point at the ferry quay in advance; guides are limited on the island so book several weeks ahead. Wear real walking shoes — paths are packed gravel and grass, not paved.
