Paddle a two-person kayak through Arnøya's quiet skerries while the midnight sun turns the fjord copper and gold.
What to expect
After a short paddling briefing, you set out from a sheltered cove into calm channels between skerries, with seals occasionally surfacing nearby. The guide picks routes based on wind and light that day, often timing the trip so you're on the water as the low Arctic sun rakes across the peaks. It is physically easy but sensorially intense — utter quiet, cold clean air, and reflections nobody photographs from a ship's deck.
Good to know
Best in June-July for the true midnight-sun light; confirm timing against your ship's evening departure, as the best light is often after normal shore-excursion hours end. Drysuits provided.
