Go behind the scenes at La Paz's beloved wild-animal rehabilitation center, home to endemic rattlesnakes, giant iguanas, Gila monsters, and rescued sea turtles — guided by the passionate biologists who care for them daily.
What to expect
The center rescues and rehabilitates species endemic to the Baja Peninsula: king snakes, horned lizards, Gila monsters, and magnificent desert tortoises. Your biologist guide lifts the lid on the conservation crises facing these animals, lets you handle select species safely, and walks you through the sea-turtle hatchling tanks where tiny olive ridleys paddle frantically toward release day. It's emotional, educational, and utterly unique to Baja. The whole experience runs about 90 minutes.
