Glide across Moorea's impossibly turquoise lagoon on a private boat, feeding wild stingrays and blacktip reef sharks in their natural habitat before snorkelling over technicolour coral gardens. This is French Polynesia at its most iconic — and utterly bucket-list.
What to expect
Your private outrigger or motorised pirogue departs from the lagoon-side dock and cuts through channels of electric blue water to the stingray station, where guides coax dozens of silky rays to the surface. Next, blacktip reef sharks circle your knees in knee-deep water — thrilling but perfectly safe with expert guides. The final stop is a pristine coral garden where parrotfish, moray eels, and Moorea's signature coral bommies dazzle beneath your snorkel mask. Cold Hinano beer and fresh pineapple are served on the boat on the way back.
