Conquer Moorea's most celebrated viewpoint — a breathtaking ridgeline perch overlooking both Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay, the twin jewels of the island. The 360° panorama at the top is one of the South Pacific's great vistas, best savoured in the golden morning light.
What to expect
The ascent begins in lush tropical forest, with your guide pointing out wild hibiscus, vanilla vines, and ancient Polynesian agricultural terraces en route. The final scramble up the volcanic ridge demands hands and feet on rock, rewarded by a summit panorama that stops every first-timer cold. Both Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay fan out below in shades of jade and sapphire, ringed by reef and open ocean. Guides carry water and fresh local fruit for a summit picnic.
Good to know
Allow 3–4 hours round trip; depart no later than 8 am to beat heat and return comfortably before all-aboard. Wear closed-toe trail shoes — flip-flops are dangerous on this trail. Pre-book a guide; the trail is not well-signed for solo hikers. Tender port — factor in 20-min water transfer each way.
