Sail Kefalonia's coastline aboard a classic wooden caïque, anchoring in hidden coves of impossible blue, snorkelling over pristine reef, and toasting the Ionian with local wine and mezze on the open deck.
What to expect
You board a lovingly maintained traditional Ionian caïque right from Argostoli harbour, easing past the De Bosset Bridge and out into open turquoise water. The captain navigates to secret coves along the peninsula's southern coast for swim stops in water so clear you can count the pebbles at 5 m depth. A generous spread of local cheeses, olives, bread and Kefalonian wine is laid out on deck as you drift under the Ionian sun. Keep your eyes open for Caretta caretta loggerhead turtles, which feed in these very waters — an unrepeatable wildlife encounter just minutes from the port.
