Buckle into a private 4×4 and plunge into the Désert des Agriates — a wild, roadless expanse of maquis and granite that tumbles to Saleccia, Corsica's most gloriously isolated white-sand beach, dubbed one of Europe's finest. No tour bus reaches here.
What to expect
Depart Calvi port in a high-clearance 4×4, heading east along the coastal road before turning into the protected Agriate desert — a UNESCO-candidate wilderness of rock rose, wild rosemary, and cork oak. The piste drops steeply to Saleccia beach: 800 metres of powdery white sand lapped by water that shifts from jade to cobalt. Your guide shares the ecology and history of this extraordinary landscape while you swim and sunbathe in near-solitude. The return journey is timed precisely to your ship's schedule. A chilled picnic or refreshments are typically provided.
Good to know
Excursion runs approximately 4–5 hours including 1.5 hours beach time. Departs from Calvi port — guide meets you dockside. Bring swimwear, towel, reef-safe sunscreen, and sturdy footwear for the piste walk. Book at least 5 days ahead — this is one of the most sought-after Calvi experiences and small-group slots are limited.
