Underwater Naturalist Photography Masterclass, Ashmore Marine Park

Join a professional underwater photographer for a small-group snorkel and photography workshop in the world-class waters of Ashmore Marine Park — mastering composition, light, and marine behaviour to bring home images worthy of a gallery wall.

What to expect

The session begins with a 30-minute topside briefing covering camera settings, buoyancy technique, and approaching marine life ethically. In the water, your photographer-guide positions you for the shot — a turtle ascending to breathe, a clownfish in its anemone, a hawksbill at the cleaning station. Mid-session breaks allow for real-time image review on a waterproof tablet. The afternoon concludes with a group edit session aboard the vessel where your guide helps you select and process your ten best frames.
