What to expect
After a thorough safety briefing at the put-in, your certified guide leads the raft through a sequence of named rapids — some playful, some genuinely thrilling — interspersed with calm stretches where scarlet macaws cross overhead and troops of squirrel monkeys peer from the riverbank trees. The Savegre's water is notably clear and cold, fed by the Chirripó massif, making it feel worlds away from more touristy rafting rivers.
