Glide the wild, largely uncharted coastline of Vanikoro by private Zodiac, revealing sea-cliff amphitheatres, secret black-sand coves, and vistas of the outer reef that only a nimble small craft can reach. The island as almost no human eye has seen it.
What to expect
The Zodiac departs with a maximum of eight guests and immediately hugs the coastline, where dramatic basalt cliffs plunge into reef-clear water. Your naturalist driver cuts the engine in quiet bays to let you absorb birdsong from the overhanging forest canopy. Midway, you land on a secluded black-sand beach for chilled refreshments and an unhurried swim, with not another soul in sight. The return leg rounds the island's windward headland, where surf crashes through natural arches in a spectacle of raw Pacific power.
