Ascend to one of the ancient world's most dramatically sited acropolises — perched 116 m above a sapphire bay — with a specialist archaeologist guide bringing 2,400 years of history vividly to life.
What to expect
The half-day begins with a scenic coastal drive south to Lindos. Your guide leads you up to the Acropolis — past the 4th-century BC Temple of Athena Lindia — pausing at every terrace for sweeping views over St Paul's Bay below. You'll then descend into the village itself: a maze of sea-captain mansions adorned with pebble-mosaic courtyards, bougainvillea, and artisan boutiques. Time is allowed for a Greek coffee or a fresh seafood meze in the village square before returning to port.
Good to know
The Acropolis site is open from 08:30; arriving early (before coach parties) means cooler temperatures and empty columns. Wear sunscreen and sturdy shoes. Entry to the Acropolis of Lindos is approximately EUR 12 per adult and can be purchased on-site.
