Cape Clear Island Guided Coastal Kayak & Snorkel Experience

Paddle sea kayaks along Cape Clear's dramatic coastline, slipping into crystal-clear Wild Atlantic Way waters for a guided snorkel among kelp forests and hidden sea caves. This is Ireland's westernmost paddling adventure, raw and utterly unspoilt.

What to expect

After a brief safety and technique briefing at the harbour, you'll launch kayaks into the sheltered waters of North or South Harbour before rounding headlands into more dramatic coastal scenery. Your guide points out nesting seabirds on the cliffs — gannet, chough, and storm petrel are common — before anchoring in a sheltered bay for a snorkel in remarkably clear Atlantic water. The pace is relaxed and exploratory, with stops to float, photograph, and simply absorb the wild silence of this Gaeltacht island. All equipment, wetsuits, and dry bags are provided.
