Stand-up paddleboard across the mirrored waters of South Harbour as the Atlantic light turns golden, with the Fastnet Rock on the horizon and not another soul in sight. Pure, meditative Wild Atlantic Way luxury at its most elemental.
What to expect
Launch from the sandy shore of South Harbour and paddle out into waters so clear you can see the sandy bottom several metres below. Your guide leads you at a relaxed pace around the harbour's headlands, where grey seals haul out on low rocks and cormorants dry their wings on kelp-draped boulders. The Fastnet Rock sits at the southern edge of your horizon — a dramatic backdrop that reminds you exactly how far west you are. The session balances instruction for newcomers with freedom for experienced paddlers to explore independently. End with a warm drink at the island's harbourside café.
