ATV Off-Roading in Las Vegas: What to Know

Expect a bumpy, dusty, surprisingly fun ride through Mojave desert trails with views of red rock canyons, Joshua trees, and distant mountains. Most tours last 2–4 hours including pickup from the Strip. You'll get basic instruction, a helmet, and goggles, then follow a guide in a small group. It's not pure wilderness—many routes see other tours—but the scenery is genuinely impressive and the driving feels adventurous without requiring any prior skill. Afternoon heat and fine dust are the main realities; everything gets coated quickly.

Best time is October through April when daytime temperatures stay comfortable. Summers are brutal with 110°F+ heat and many operators shut down or go very early. Expect to pay around $150–$350 per person depending on tour length, group size, and whether you ride solo or double. Shorter shared rides sit at the low end; longer solo experiences with better machines push toward the high end. Add $20–40 for photos or transport if not included.

Pick a morning tour to avoid the worst heat and crowds. Skip the absolute cheapest options; they often use worn-out machines and larger groups that crawl along. Bring a bandana or buff for your neck, wear closed shoes and long pants, and don't underestimate the sun—even in winter.
