Nassau Beach Club Excursion: Worth It?

A typical Nassau beach club excursion is a half-day or full-day trip that includes a short boat ride from the cruise port or downtown, a few hours at a private beach club on one of the nearby cays, basic snorkeling gear, and an included lunch or barbecue. Expect loud music, a busy beach with rows of loungers, open-bar drinks (usually rum punch and beer), and a mix of cruise passengers and day-trippers. The water is clear and the sand is decent, but it feels more like a lively beach party than a quiet tropical escape. Snorkeling is usually right off the beach in shallow water with modest fish life; don’t expect a pristine reef.

Best time is December through April when the weather is most reliable and seas are calmer. Expect to pay around $80–$160 per person depending on whether you choose a basic club transfer or a package with boat cruise and snorkeling stop. The higher end usually includes better food and a less crowded beach area.

Honest tip: Pick the smaller, slightly more expensive clubs that limit daily guests if you want space to relax. Skip the ones that advertise “private beach” but are basically a big open bar with loud DJs and constant organized games. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, cash for water toys or tips, and lower your expectations for solitude.
