A typical Prague beer tasting tour lasts 2–3 hours and usually includes 6–8 beers ranging from classic Czech lagers to a few craft or regional options. You’ll either sit in a traditional pivnice with a guide explaining the brewing process and history, or walk between a couple of pubs. Expect generous pours, decent food pairings (goulash, cheese, sausages), and a mix of tourists and locals. The better tours focus on Pilsner Urquell, Budvar, and a few smaller breweries rather than just ticking off every IPA in sight. It’s social and informative if you like beer, but it can feel touristy if the group is large.

Best time is April–June or September–October when the weather is pleasant for walking between venues and beer gardens are open. Summer gets hot and crowded; winter is cozier but some outdoor spots close. Expect to pay around €45–75 per person including all beer, food, and guiding. Private tours or those visiting actual breweries sit at the higher end.

Tip: Choose a tour that visits at least one brewery taproom or traditional Czech pub instead of staying in one tourist-heavy spot the whole time. Skip the big “8 beers in 2 hours” parties if you actually want to taste and remember what you drank — they tend to become loud and rushed. Go with a small group (under 10 people) if possible.
