Expect a classic Caribbean catamaran day: bright sun, turquoise water, and a steady trade wind. Most trips last 3–5 hours and follow the coast west. You'll get time to swim or snorkel in calm spots, plus decent views of the hills behind Montego Bay. The shorter sunset cruises are relaxed with rum punch and music. The longer daytime ones usually include a stop for snorkeling and a basic lunch. It's pleasant but not deserted — these boats carry 20–50 people and the water near the harbor isn't pristine. Still, once you're a mile offshore the scenery improves quickly.

Best time is December through April when the weather is driest and the sea is flattest. June to November is cheaper but you risk afternoon showers and rougher rides, especially in hurricane season.
