Is the Ice Bar in Prague Worth It?

The ice bar is exactly what it sounds like: a tiny room carved entirely from ice where everything — walls, bar, seats, and your drinking glass — is frozen. You get a thermal jacket and gloves at the entrance, step into -7°C or so for a strict 20-minute slot, and drink a couple of shots or a cocktail served in an ice glass. It's genuinely cold, visually striking, and feels a bit like a novelty theme-park attraction. The whole thing is small (about the size of a large living room) and can get crowded with groups taking photos. It's fun for 15–20 minutes, but don't expect a long evening out.

Best time is winter (November–February) when it feels thematically right and the cold doesn't shock you as much coming in from the street. In summer the contrast is more brutal. Expect to pay around 35–55 EUR per person including one drink and the gear; some packages bundle it with a pub crawl or boat trip and push toward the higher end. Skip the overpriced add-on photos if they try to sell them inside. Do pick the fruitier vodka-based shots — they go down easier when you're freezing and taste better than the straight spirits.
