Island hopping from Dubrovnik means spending a day on a boat visiting two or three of the Elafiti islands (usually Lopud, Šipan, and Koločep). Expect a mix of swimming stops, short village walks, and time on rocky beaches with pine trees. Boats carry 20–80 people; larger ones are cheaper but louder and more crowded, while smaller ones feel more relaxed. The ride itself is pleasant in calm weather but can be bumpy if the wind picks up. Most tours last 5–8 hours including pickup from the Old Port.
Best time is late May to early October. June and September give you good swimming weather with fewer crowds than July and August. Expect to pay around $60–$120 per person for a standard group tour; private or luxury small-group trips start closer to $250–$450 for two people. Food and drinks are usually extra.
Pick a morning departure that includes at least two swimming stops and avoids the biggest party boats if you want peace. Skip the tours that cram in a “Game of Thrones” stop or spend most of the day at just one beach bar. Bring water shoes, sunscreen, and cash—many island spots don’t take cards.
