Jet Ski Tours in Dubrovnik: Worth It?

A jet ski tour gets you out on the water fast, skipping the slow boat crowds. Most trips last 1–3 hours and take you along the coast or to the nearby Elaphite islands, stopping at caves, quiet beaches, and spots for swimming. Expect a briefing, life jacket, and a guide who leads the group in formation. It's fun and surprisingly good for sightseeing if you like being in control rather than sitting on a crowded deck. The ride itself is the main event: bumpy, loud, and exhilarating, with plenty of photo stops.

Best time is late spring (May–June) or early autumn (September–October) when the sea is calm, crowds are thinner, and temperatures aren't brutal. July and August are hotter, busier, and more expensive. Expect to pay around €70–€130 per person for a guided group tour; private tours or longer safaris run €200–€350 for two people. Shorter one-hour trips from Cavtat are usually the cheapest option.

Tip: Choose a small-group or private tour if you want to actually enjoy the scenery instead of constantly chasing the guide. Skip the cheapest no-guide rentals unless you're an experienced rider; the marked routes are limited and you miss the best spots. Bring waterproof shoes, sunglasses that stay on, and a dry bag for your phone.
