Expect a long but rewarding day. The drive from Dubrovnik takes about 2.5–3 hours each way through beautiful countryside into Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kravica itself is a wide, tiered waterfall tumbling into a turquoise pool surrounded by dense forest. You can swim (water is cold even in summer), walk the paths, and grab a drink at the café overlooking the falls. Most tours then continue to Mostar for a guided walk around the old town and Stari Most. The whole trip usually runs 10–11 hours door-to-door. It’s scenic and gives you a solid taste of Bosnia without needing to arrange border crossings yourself.
Best time is late spring (May–June) or early autumn (September–early October) when it’s warm enough to swim but crowds are thinner and the water level is still decent. July and August get hot and busy; winter visits mean no swimming and possible closures after heavy rain. Expect to pay around €55–€85 per person for a small-group shared tour including transport and Mostar guide; private options start closer to €250–€350 for two people.
Tip: Choose the version that includes Počitelj or Ston only if you actually want more stops—otherwise the simple Kravica + Mostar combo is less rushed. Skip the boat ride at Kravica; it’s short, overpriced, and you see the same views from the paths for free.
