Lighthouse Beach Walk in Nassau: Worth It?

This is an easy, self-guided walk along a narrow spit of coral beach on Paradise Island to an old, unmanned lighthouse. Expect a 30-45 minute stroll each way from the main resorts, with shallow water on both sides, some small waves, and a bit of uneven rocky ground near the end. The lighthouse itself is abandoned and open – you can climb the stairs for decent views but it's not maintained, so watch your step. Total round-trip from Atlantis-area hotels is usually about two hours including swim stops. The beach is quiet compared to the big resort strips; you'll mostly see a few other walkers and maybe some iguanas.

Best time is December to April when the weather is dry and the water is calmest. Avoid going after heavy rain or in summer when the heat and occasional rough surf make it less pleasant.
