Expect a lively mix of independent shops selling clothes, design objects and books (the giant bookstore with the bike hanging from the ceiling is the clear highlight), street art, and plenty of places to eat and drink. A guided tour usually lasts 2–3 hours and combines the factory with nearby spots like the bridge viewpoint or a quick riverside walk. It's energetic rather than peaceful — think crowds, music, and photographers everywhere on weekends.

Best time is spring or early autumn on a weekday morning; summer weekends get uncomfortably packed and hot.
