It's free to enter and open most days from morning until 10 or 11pm, though non-Muslims are restricted during prayer times. The best season is winter (December to March) when it's cooler; summers are brutally hot and the white stone reflects the sun intensely.

Expect to pay around $40–80 total from Dubai for a half-day trip including transport, or $15–30 if you're already in Abu Dhabi and just need a taxi or shared ride.
