You’ll spend a few hours bouncing through Aruba’s rough northern terrain in an open jeep or UTV. The route cuts across rocky desert, passes dramatic coastline, and ends at the Natural Pool – a small, protected seawater basin surrounded by lava rock where you can swim and snorkel. Expect dust, wind, loud engine noise, and zero shade most of the way. The pool itself is pretty but small; on busy days you share it with several groups. The Indian Cave stop is usually included and is a quick, interesting bonus. Overall it’s more about the rugged ride than a relaxing beach day.
Best time is January through April when it’s dry and slightly cooler. Rainy season (October–December) turns the trails into slippery mud and can cancel trips. Expect to pay around $110–$160 per person for a half-day tour that includes hotel pickup, guide, and snorkel gear. Private or smaller-group options sit at the higher end.
Tip: choose the UTV version if you want to drive yourself; it’s more fun than sitting in the back of a crowded jeep. Skip the add-on “lunch” if it’s just a basic sandwich – you’ll be back in town in time for a proper meal. Bring a bandana or buff for the dust and a waterproof phone case.
