Aruba Offroad Buggy Tour: Worth It?

Expect a bumpy, dusty, and surprisingly fun ride through Aruba’s arid countryside in an open-air buggy or UTV. You’ll hit dirt tracks, rocky terrain, and a few shallow water crossings while stopping at spots like natural caves, a cliff-jump pool, and panoramic viewpoints. Tours usually last 2–3 hours and mix driving time with short guided stops. It’s not luxurious but it’s genuinely engaging if you like being outdoors and don’t mind getting dirty. Groups are small, typically 4–8 people.

The best time is January through April when it’s dry and temperatures are slightly lower. Rainy season (October–December) can turn trails muddy and slippery, canceling or altering routes. Expect to pay around $90–$160 per person depending on group size, vehicle type, and whether it includes drinks or snacks. Private tours sit at the higher end.

Tip: Choose the UTV/buggy version over a large shared jeep if you want to actually drive yourself—much more fun. Skip the add-on “cliff jumping” if you’re not comfortable jumping 10–15 feet into water; you can always stay in the vehicle and still enjoy the views. Bring a bandana or buff for dust, wear closed shoes, and don’t overdo the sunscreen before getting covered in red dirt.
