A camel ride at the Pyramids is exactly what you'd imagine: swaying on a tall camel while the Great Pyramid and Sphinx loom in the background against an endless sand sea. It's touristy and the handlers can be pushy for tips, but the experience of crossing dunes with one of the world's most iconic sights in view is genuinely memorable. The camels are usually calm if a bit grumpy. You'll dismount a few times for photos; the sand gets everywhere and the sun is brutal.

Best time is October to April when temperatures are bearable (avoid summer entirely). Expect to pay around $35-80 per person depending on duration, group size, and whether pickup from your Cairo hotel is included. Shorter rides near the Pyramids are cheaper; longer ones heading deeper into the desert cost more.
