Tivoli Gardens is a pleasant, compact amusement park right in the middle of Copenhagen. Expect beautifully maintained gardens, decent roller coasters, lots of flowers, fairy lights, and a mix of families, couples, and locals. It’s more charming than thrilling – think elegant rather than adrenaline junkie. The atmosphere is especially nice in the evening when everything is lit up. It gets crowded on weekends and during Danish school holidays, so go on a weekday if you can.

Best time to visit is late spring through early fall. The park is open seasonally; summer brings long hours and evening concerts, while September-October has beautiful autumn colors and far fewer people. Expect to pay around $25–40 for basic entry. Adding a ride pass pushes it to $55–80 depending on whether you want unlimited rides or just a few. Food and drinks inside are noticeably expensive.

Honest tips: Buy the ride pass if you plan to do four or more attractions – it’s usually better value. Prioritize the older wooden roller coaster and the tower drop ride; skip most of the generic flat rides you can find at any carnival.
