A Catholic church built in 1814 that houses a revered statue of Cristo Negro (Black Christ), found on the harbor shores and adorned in richly-designed ceremonial robes. The church is the focal point of Panama's largest religious celebration, the Black Christ Festival on October 21, when up to 60,000 pilgrims arrive to venerate the statue and participate in a nightlong procession through town.
