Book this experience →

Ginkakuji is a Zen temple featuring the Silver Pavilion, a two-story hall built in 1482 as a shogun's retirement villa and converted to a temple in 1490. Visitors walk a circular route through moss gardens, a distinctive dry sand garden with a sand cone called the Moon Viewing Platform, and past historic temple buildings that showcase the refined Higashiyama Culture arts including tea ceremony and garden design.
