Hike into the world's southernmost trekking circuit with a Yaghan-country guide — jagged peaks, wind-carved lenga forest, and a silence found almost nowhere else.
What to expect
You start at dawn from the trailhead above town, climbing through native lenga forest into open alpine terrain with views over the Beagle Channel and toward Cape Horn. Your guide reads the notoriously fast-changing weather and adjusts the route in real time. Expect scree, wind, and total isolation — this is genuine backcountry, not a groomed path. You return by late afternoon having stood somewhere very few travelers ever reach.
Good to know
Full day, 7-9 hours; requires solid fitness and layered wind/waterproof clothing. Book at least a few days ahead so the guide can plan around weather. Confirm return timing against your ship's all-aboard with real margin — this is not a trip to cut close.
