A half-day trek to a hanging glacier and its iceberg-flecked lake, close enough to town for a half-day but wild enough to feel like Patagonia's edge.
What to expect
The route climbs steadily through beech forest and open peat bog before reaching the lake, where small icebergs calved from Vinciguerra drift in blue-green water. The glacier itself sits above, streaked and crevassed against the ridgeline. It's a genuine trek — muddy, occasionally steep — but shorter and more accessible than the full Dientes circuit.
Good to know
About 4-5 hours round trip; waterproof boots matter far more than technical gear here. Confirm pickup timing from the pier area directly with the operator, and build in a margin for the return before all-aboard.
