A guided climb to the 16th-century star fort above town for uncrowded panoramic views over Collioure, Port-Vendres, and the Côte Vermeille.
What to expect
A short drive or steep walk up from town brings you to this star-shaped fort perched above the bay, still privately restored and rarely busy. Your guide walks the ramparts with you, pointing out how the fort's angles were designed to cross-fire with the Château Royal below against seaborne attack. From the top, the view stretches from Collioure's rooftops down the Côte Vermeille toward Spain. It's the best panorama in the area and one of the least visited spots to get it from.
Good to know
Steep 20-minute walk or short taxi from the old town; wear proper shoes. Arrange the historian guide in advance as it isn't offered on-site daily.
