Fiskardo's Venetian Lighthouse & Old Village Walk

Walk the one part of Kefalonia the 1953 earthquake spared — pastel Venetian houses, a ruined lighthouse, and a working harbour that looks the same as it did two centuries ago. This is the neighbourhood a local would actually send you to.

What to expect

Starting at the harbour, you wander past 18th and 19th-century merchant houses that survived the earthquake that flattened the rest of the island. The path leads out to the old lighthouse ruin at the point, with views across to Ithaca. It's a 45-60 minute unhurried loop, best done right after the ship docks or right before all-aboard when the day-trippers have thinned out.

Good to know

Go at 8am or after 5pm for the best light and fewest people; wear proper shoes as parts of the lighthouse path are uneven rock.
