A quiet coastal drive-and-walk to dramatic sea cliffs and pine-covered points where locals go to watch the sun drop into the Genkai Sea.
What to expect
You'll walk short trails along wind-carved cliffs with views back toward Karatsu's coastline and out to the open sea, often with almost no one else around. Your guide, a Karatsu resident volunteering their time, shares local lore and points out seasonal wildflowers or migratory birds. It's contemplative rather than adrenaline-driven.
Good to know
Best at late afternoon light; coordinate guide availability a few days ahead via JNTO. Bring good shoes as paths are uneven and unpaved in places.
