What to expect
You'll set off in early light along the Kabeyun Trail, climbing through boreal forest to the Top of the Giant lookout where the cliff drops straight to Lake Superior. Your guide points out where the Ojibwe legend of Nanabijou (the sleeping giant turned to stone) is said to unfold across the landscape. The round trip runs 6-8 hours with a well-paced lunch stop at the lookout itself, one of the most dramatic views in the Great Lakes.
Good to know
This is a full-day, strenuous hike (22km round trip) — only feasible on long port calls; confirm all-aboard time before booking and bring sturdy boots and layers regardless of season.
