What to expect

You'll walk sections of the waterfront and up toward Mount McKay (Animikii-wajiw) with a guide who shares the Anishinaabe perspective on the Sleeping Giant legend, the fur trade era, and contemporary Fort William First Nation life. Conversation is unhurried and personal rather than scripted, often including stops for tea or a local snack. It's a grounding, human counterpoint to the fort and the landscape sightseeing.
