Ride in private comfort along one of Japan's most spectacular Pacific coastlines — the Nichinan Kaigan — a UNESCO-recognised geopark of volcanic sea cliffs, wave-sculpted platforms and emerald coves. Stop at panoramic clifftop viewpoints found on no standard itinerary, then descend to the thunderous Kadokawa coast for intimate encounters with raw, untouched Japan.
What to expect
Your local guide takes you south from Aburatsu along Route 220, one of Japan's great coastal roads, with the Pacific glittering to the east. Stops include the sweeping panorama from Cape Toi — wild horses still roam the headland here — plus the geological wonder of the wave-cut basalt platforms near Koshikibana. Your guide explains the volcanic origins of the landscape and shares stories of the fishing communities clinging to these spectacular shores. Photography opportunities are exceptional throughout.
Good to know
Cape Toi (Toi Misaki) is approximately 75 minutes south of Aburatsu. The wild Misaki horse herd is free-roaming — sightings are not guaranteed but likely in morning hours. This excursion works as a half or full day depending on stops chosen. Confirm all-aboard time with your guide and build in a buffer.
