What to expect
Your guide collects you by 4WD from the pier and drives to the trailhead, where a well-shaded jungle path winds uphill through rubber-tree plantations and old-growth forest. Klong Chao Waterfall cascades down mossy granite boulders into a wide swimming pool — you have time to swim before continuing the ascent to the wilder, harder-to-reach Huang Nam Khiao, whose mineral-blue pool is one of Ko Kood's great secrets. The guide shares stories of the island's fishing heritage and points out resident hornbills and giant atlas moths.
