Escape to Trindade, the wild Atlantic Forest coastline village south of Paraty, and hike to Lagoinha do Leste — a breathtaking lagoon-and-beach combination backed by mountain forest that consistently ranks among Brazil's most beautiful and untouched beaches.
What to expect
Your 4×4 transfers you to Trindade, a bohemian coastal village 25 km south of Paraty, then your guide leads a 45-minute forest trail through primary Atlantic Forest — alive with butterflies, golden-lion tamarins and endemic birds — to the spectacular Lagoinha do Leste, a freshwater lagoon separated from a pounding surf beach by a narrow strip of pure white sand. You swim in both the calm lagoon and, conditions permitting, the open Atlantic, with the dramatic Serra do Mar mountains as a backdrop. On the return, your guide stops at Praia do Sono lookout for one of the most photogenic panoramas on the Costa Verde coast.
