Drift silently among cathedral-scale icebergs calved from the Greenland Ice Sheet, just minutes from Qassiarsuk. A private Zodiac gives you the freedom to linger, photograph, and witness the electric-blue architecture of ancient ice up close.
What to expect
You board a rigid-inflatable crewed by an ice-qualified skipper-guide and push into Tunulliarfik Fjord within minutes of the landing site. Towering bergs — some the size of apartment blocks — glow in shades of jade, cobalt and white. The guide reads ice movement for safety and positions you within metres of arching grottos and melt-pool mirrors. On calm days the reflections double every berg into a perfect abstract sculpture.
Good to know
Dress in warm, windproof layers; the fjord feels significantly colder on the water. Waterproof trousers recommended. Confirm departure time to allow a comfortable return before all-aboard. Pre-book well in advance — private Zodiacs fill quickly in the short Arctic summer window.
