Hudson Strait Whale & Marine Wildlife Zodiac Safari

Hunt for beluga whales, harp seals, and Arctic fox along the tidal channels of the Lower Savage Islands aboard a private expedition Zodiac with a marine biologist guide. The Hudson Strait is one of the planet's great cetacean corridors.

What to expect

Your small group (no more than 10 guests) departs in a purpose-built expedition Zodiac, navigating the rip-tidal channels between the islands where beluga whales congregate to feed in summer. The marine biologist points out tell-tale surface behaviours — the rolling backs, the ghostly white forms visible through gin-clear Arctic water — and explains the Hudson Strait's role as a critical beluga nursery. Harp seals often pop up alongside the craft with characteristic curiosity. The return route skirts the island cliffs for a final seabird spectacle.

Good to know

Duration approximately 2 hours. Binoculars provided; pack your own camera with a zoom lens. Beluga sightings are highly likely in July–August but cannot be guaranteed. Dress in windproof, waterproof layers — Hudson Strait wind chill is significant even in summer.
