Join a professional Arctic expedition photographer for a dedicated Zodiac session timed to the golden Arctic light — capturing seascapes, wildlife, and the haunting beauty of the Savage Islands at the very edge of photography's most coveted frontier.
What to expect
Departing at the optimal light window (often early morning or late evening when Arctic sun skims the horizon), your small group of no more than 8 photographers boards a Zodiac crewed by the expedition photographer and a safety driver. The craft positions itself to exploit reflections off the granite cliffs, backlit seabird flocks, and the characteristic turquoise-green of the Hudson Strait. The photographer circulates, advising on shutter speeds for wave action and wildlife, and suggests compositional framings. Both novice and advanced shooters return with portfolio-quality imagery.
Good to know
Duration 2–2.5 hours. Bring your longest zoom lens and a weather-sealed camera body if available; sea spray is unavoidable. A waterproof dry bag is recommended for kit storage. Early booking essential — this session fills first among expedition guests. All experience levels welcome.
