Amalfi is a tender port for the ships that actually reach it. Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, and Silversea list four, two, and one sailings respectively in the next four months; larger vessels often call Salerno instead, adding a 30- to 60-minute transfer each way that the page cards do not mention. Check your itinerary and daily programme the night before.
The ship drops anchor in the Gulf of Salerno. Tenders take 5–15 minutes to the Marina Coppola pier, which lands you steps from Piazza del Duomo. The Pompeii Small Group Tour from Amalfi Coast with an Archaeologist at $223 per person is a tighter call. At $446 for a couple it is not cheap, but the operator is the Archaeological Park of Pompeii itself with a 4.70 rating from 87,000 reviews. If your ship’s version includes a long coach transfer from Salerno, guaranteed return timing, and an archaeologist guide, the desk version can be the better buy for anyone who values certainty on a tender day.
The Limoncello Tour run by Simply Amalfi is the clearest independent win: $36 for two versus whatever markup the ship applies. The Lemon path hike and boat tour also favour direct booking on price and flexibility. Only the Pompeii excursion is close enough that the ship’s logistics may justify the premium for some travellers.
Assume an all-aboard of 16:30 and plan backwards. Take an early tender (around 08:00–08:30) and head straight to the Lemon path hike - Amalfi coast. Allow three hours on the trail and return to town by 12:30. Spend the remaining time on the Amalfi: Limoncello Tour, Tasting Voucher or Making Class before walking to the pier by 14:30 at the latest.
Skip the Pompeii Small Group Tour from Amalfi Coast with an Archaeologist entirely; it needs a full day. The boat tour also requires more time than a genuine half-day allows once tender queues are factored in. This combination keeps the day relaxed, uses only the two lowest-priced excursions on the page, and still gets you back with buffer.

If I could pick only one, it would be the Lemon path hike - Amalfi coast. At $72 it is the cheapest substantial experience on the page, it shows you the coast the way locals see it rather than from a crowded boat or bus, and it leaves the afternoon free for a limoncello class or simply wandering Amalfi without feeling you are racing the clock.
