Should You Do the Arch & Lovers Beach Tour in Cabo?

The Arch and Lovers Beach tour is the most popular excursion in Cabo San Lucas for a reason. You take a small boat out to Land’s End, get surprisingly close to the famous rock arch, then pull up to the calm, pretty Lovers Beach on the Sea of Cortez side. Expect clear water, lots of sea lions, and the chance to swim or walk around for 30-45 minutes. The whole thing usually lasts 2.5–3.5 hours. It’s touristy but genuinely scenic; just know you won’t be alone—dozens of pangas and catamarans often cluster at the same spots.

Best time is November through April when seas are calmer and visibility is excellent. Summer and early fall can be hot, humid, and choppy, with more chance of cancellations. Expect to pay around $35–65 per person depending on whether you go on a small shared panga, a larger catamaran with drinks, or book a semi-private trip. Street vendors and marina touts are cheaper but more unpredictable.

Tip: Choose a smaller boat that actually lands on Lovers Beach so you can get off and explore—many big catamarans only do a photo stop. Skip the add-on “glass bottom” boats; the water clarity from the regular pangas is usually better. Bring reef-safe sunscreen, water, and cash for tips. Go early in the day if you can.
