It’s genuinely impressive in scale and offers solid 360-degree views over the island, though the surrounding temple complex is still a work in progress. Expect a mix of tourists and locals making offerings; the site itself is peaceful but can get crowded midday. The actual Buddha statue and viewpoint take 30-45 minutes once you’re there. Most people combine it with Wat Chalong and a viewpoint or two, turning it into a half-day trip. It’s not life-changing, but it’s one of the cleaner, more worthwhile cultural stops on the island if you want something beyond beaches.

Best time to visit is November to April during the dry season, ideally in the morning before 11am or after 3pm to avoid the worst heat and crowds. Expect to pay around $25–55 per person depending on whether you do a basic shared tour with hotel pickup or a more comfortable private half-day option that includes Wat Chalong and a viewpoint. Skip the add-ons like cashew nut factories and honey farms — they’re usually just shopping stops. If you have your own transport or rent a scooter, going independently in the late afternoon is often the smartest and cheapest way to do it.
